The company was formed in 2003 as a partnership between a German Electroplating Engineer and a Maltese Chemist. Both had extensive experience in precious metal electroplating and had expert know-how in plating on Titanium
It started off in a Business Incubation Centre in Malta mainly undertaking Silver plating for household decorative articles. Seca electroplating started building its name for quality metal finishing and electroplating services on the Maltese Islands. Within the following 4 years, Seca electroplating was the market leader in precious metal electroplating, serving households and also the most reknowned jewellery companies on the island.
In 2007, the company moved to its new premises in Malta where it acquired 3 new plating lines. One line is an automated Nickel / Chrome line, the other is a Silver plating line, and the third is dedicated to plating on Titanium. The company could now address the needs of industry and Swiss and German spectacle frame makers were among the first customers who realised the cost effectiveness of plating their products at Seca Electroplating Ltd.
